You can find many varieties and variations and they might be called differently such as Orgasm Balls, Pleasure Balls, Love Balls, Smart Balls, Duotone Balls, Kegel Balls and Geisha Balls. They are made of different types of materials, such as metal, plastic, latex and glass. Make sure to choose one with medical grade materials.

Kegel Balls will support new mothers healing of any tears and will help the vagina regain strength and tension after delivery. Menopausal women will benefit from usning them. They can make the menopause more bearable, reduce the risk of urinary incontinence and relieve cystitis and vaginal pain.

While shopping, you may notice that Ben Wa Balls can be as small as regular marbles to about an inch in diameter. Larger ones and connected by a string are perfect for less experienced women. The string gives an added benefit of being able to tug on the balls for stimulation, exercises, and easy removal. Heavier balls may be more effective for advanced users or if you already have strong pelvic-floor muscles when getting started. Larger size will help you to keep them in. Subsequently, as your muscles get stronger and you will feel more comfortable wearing them you can choose smaller, loose and heavier balls. Increasing weights can be used to strengthen the vagina and improve sexual performance and experiences.

It is natural that Ben Wa Balls will begin to slide down and this slight movement of the balls, will cause your kegel muscles to tighten. While walking or moving, the inner balls move colliding against the walls of the outer ball and causing a small vibration which is picked up by the walls of the vagina causing a reflexive contraction response, as well as the clamping mechanism which is designed to stop something falling out. Depending on your sensitivity, you will begin to feel aroused.

Metal and glass balls are naturally weighted. Duotone Balls are made of plastic, usually they are larger and contain weighted balls inside which roll around causing self-made vibrations. Since the balls are weighted, you have to use your muscles in the vagina to hold them in. Many Gynaecologists also recommend using kegel exercisers to treat urinary incontinence since stronger pelvic muscles improve elasticity of the vagina and increase support the bladder, uterus and rectum. Bladder control issues, like that which occurs during coughing or sneezing and becomes more common as women grow older, or after childbirth, can be helped with the regular use of Ben Wa Balls or Kegel exercises. The balls work your Kegel muscles and over time will increase your sexual pleasure, cause clitoris erection during sexual arousal and rhythmically contract during sexual orgasm.
